Cantinetta delle Terme: Reviews & Ratings
One of the best meals we have ever had during our trips to Italy, we stumbled a cross this hidden restaurant by pure chance and after perusing the menu outside entered to a warm, pleasant welcome. We listened to our waiters recommendations and have to say all were perfect. We had an excellent Chianti to accompany our meal. The epic ending was the creme brulee, never have we been served on before still flaming. We will definitely be returning on our next trip to Florence.
One of the many highlights of my trip to Florence. Some of the friendliest staff from the chef, waiters, and owner. Don't miss this hidden jewel. Food quality is top, as is the service.
Hidden behind the buzz in a very quiet and gloomy street, the dining experience behind those concealed doors was truly extraordinary, standing out as a remarkable culinary adventure in Florence. We savored an exquisite tuna steak, encrusted with a delicate layer of pistachio that added a delightful crunch and nutty flavor. The sliced meat, artfully arranged with a vibrant arugula salad, brought together rich and peppery notes that complemented each bite perfectly. Next, we indulged in a beautifully prepared sea bass, which was tender and flaky, accompanied by a medley of fresh vegetables that enhanced its subtle flavors. Finally, the shrimp pasta tossed in a luscious clam sauce was a highlight, with the shrimp cooked to perfection, delivering a burst of umami in every mouthful. Each dish was remarkably light yet brimming with flavor. It is truly worth experiencing all three courses.
They took us with no reservation and the service was wonderful. The ossobuco was absolutely delicious and the spinach was the best we’ve ever had. Truly an elevated version of sautéed spinach with garlic that we’d go back for more! I’d recommend ordering the fried octopus, and the tortelloni with bacon also. The downstairs ambiance was not the most decorated, but still a cool setting in the cellar.
This place was recommended by our host. Every dish was fantastic. Good plating, good flavor. Everyone should get the fried baby octopus. Their specials depend on what they have in stocks so we didn't get to try the crab pasta unfortunately. We will definitely be coming back before leaving.
Great experience! Like the seafood wasn’t fresh enough, dishes weren’t extremely tasty enough, our host found a bottle of Blanc de Noire Franciacorta (that wasnt in the already good wine list) to indulge us. Incredible value for money also!! Thank you PS: definitely worth a Michelin mention!!!
Loved it! I had a pasta with crab, it was fantastic! The crab was imposing but it came partially shelled what made it easy to extract the white meat, that was fresh and sweet. There was just the right amount of sauce, infused with the seafood bisque, tomatoes and herbs, all in all a flavoursome and delicious meal! My partner had a sliced beef and said it was excellent! We also had a scallop starter and a chestnut pudding, both very, very good. Add to it a cosy, homely atmosphere, good service that can provide a recommendation, and you know you're in good hands in this restaurant
